There's an important roll for john adams and thomas jefferson, i would include there. They can either solidify some of these things as precedent, or they can go their own way - but take on the risk that comes with that. Hedi: I think it's important that washington established these precedents, obviously, and that gave them some weight. But precedents don't matter if nobody follows them. So when it comes to the cabinet structure itself, john adams is fascinating because he was vice president. He had never actually been in a cabinet meeting.
