The Digital Revolution Was Not a Revolution, but a Business Opportunity
Internet journalism moved off the culture and media pages of the newspaper. Established business interests saw new potentials in the net, but only for the same old extraction they'd always done. Future became less a thing we create through our present day choices or hopes for human kind, than a predestined scenaria we bet on with venture capital,. This freed everyone from the moral implications of their activities. Technology development became less the story of collective flourishing than of personal survival through the accumulation of wealth.
