The Importance of Routine Behaviors
Being aware of your repetitive behaviors is a really good way of keeping track of your stress levels. Rigidity and control goes up when stress goes up, because it's a way of controlling your environment. It can be things as simple as wanting to park in the same car park or want to go to the same stores with the same branded products. And I think for a lot of autistic people, if things are going fine, maybe like one change in the routine, you can cope with. If things in your life are not going fine, and you're generally really overwhelmed, then that one change inthe routine, really difficult to cope with.
