Is the Title of God With Us a Fuller Sense?
The title of god with us has a fuller sense for matthew, right? It's in jesus, god is with us. They expected a messiah, they didn't expect him to be god in human form. But yet, i think it's really helpful to see that a matthew is a very careful reader of the old testament. He sees these deep resonances between the text that he's citing and the story being told there. And it's that kind of coalescence together that we see here with the isaiah citation,. We'll see it in every, basically every citation that we lookat.
