Masoretic Ash Taroaf in Canaanite Is a Plural Form
Ash taroaf here in 1 Samuel 7, 3 and 4 is also a plural form. If you had had Hebrew, you would know that instantly because of the way the noun ends with the OTH. So what we have here is we have the same set of consonants. But the scribes in the Hebrew Bible change the vowels to an O and an E. They get ash toret instead of the expected ash tarte in Hebrew.
