"I am very conscious of the gear that I bring clothes wise with me. And I've picked out over the years the stuff I really like in the best trip possible when I get to bring all those little things and put them in my bag," he says. He uses a three, usually a three tiered layering system: warm for warm weather, medium weather and cold weather, cool weather and then cold weather. "And depending on the environment that I'm going to back the environment decision, I will bring the best of either leather gloves will do or I need thin fleece gloves all the way up to my thick down mittens from RAB."
