Are We Enlightened by Collective Sacrifice?

I think about is maybe we're like a choice point. You could think the move in the direction of personal sacrifice from group sacrifice could be progress. If you just try to sit with doing pointless sacrifices individually instead of doing them as a group, there's nothing that stabilizes the individual. Unless it's kind of supposed to go somewhere.
