I'm really intrigued by what notions of deviance doing at the moment, because as we talked about, that's a shifting category and is always kind of underpinned to your relationship to the state or your relationship to private property. The first of criminal penalties for homosexuality or for sodomy actually were instituted by Henry VIII when he wanted to have a tidy little pretext morally and politically to destroy the monasteries. I think it's obviously important to remember that like it's not sexuality by itself doing this, right? What is being used historically is sexuality like going hand in hand with forms of race making, with forms of like gendering, and with forms of disciplining different unwilly subjects
