Economists need to acknowledge that we find ourselves in uncharted waters or uncharted territories. What we would really need is an open, honest kind of discussion, rather than a relapse into certain orthodoxies and scattrd histories o periods such as the 19 seventies. I fear there's wag too little of such an open, constructive discussion that starts from the asof of the observation that we are in pretty unprecedented kind of consolations.
