Iranian Kurds and the Revolution in Nagada

Curdish parties banned by the shah, began to re emerge in nagada. They were backing the revolution but also demanding greater curdish autonomy. The new regime rejected kurdish demands for autonomy fearing it would lead to the break up of the ethnically diverse nation. In some cities, there were clashes between kurdish fighters and the new regime. For some iranian curds, an old, repressed ambition was given new life.
