The Plage of Justinian - Part Three
The first plague known as the plague of Justinian had effects that shaped the world that we live in today, even though it occurred in the sixth century AD. Historian Procopius claimed that 10,000 people were dying every day and while that may be an exaggeration, historians still think that it could have been as high as 5,000 a day. In France so many people died that they ran out of coffins which was sort of a moot point anyway because there weren't enough people left to carry those coffins.
