Previous climate prediction models have relied on physical models only. Professor Blochie's team found that these models failed to capture the full extent of the sensitivity of the water system and climate change. The study predicts a significantly higher risk of water supply crises in Africa, Australia, and North America by 2050 as a result of the changing climate.
