The Roots of Schiffel
I had no idea that the roots of Schiffel were rooted in American music. I guess the closest approximation we had in the United States would have been jug band music which wasn't particularly popular. It was more of a tiny regional fringe movement. So Lonnie Darnigan must have seen that. If I knew it was going to be such a big hit, I'd have written a better song. Just a song which started very simply. Yeah. Direct's song to ask about is Just A Song Before I Go, which was the biggest hit of the band.
