The Origin Story of Money

Anthropologist Bill morer tells us the story of his moral obligation to repay that student loan. He is now the dean of the school of social sciences at the university of california irvine, and he studies the origins and nature of money. The problem with barter is it really does depend on us each meeting each other's needs in that moment. And so the origin story of money that we have is that humans invented money essentially to be mediator in these sorts of exchanges.
