The Staginess in the Film
The parts of it that resonated with me most were those more naturalistic performances from Liz or from Brendan Fraser and Hong Chao. The way Aronofsky moved through the apartment and shot the scenes was mostly fine for me. It worked fine. I don't really have complaints there. To me, the like artificiality of stageness that I felt was much more in the writing where it fell into a contrived way so that you can bring other themes to the forefront.
