Lorys rod has been a writer since she was 12 years old. She won a national prize for newsday at 15, and wrote poetry all the time. When i would read these thingsi would take me away into different places. I think when i read a james joyce's portrait of ulysses as a young man that was my inspiration. And then later on in college,. i tried hard with finigan's, but i saw someone who could write short stories like gatby. The writer was the hero to me. That's lorys rod.
