The Global Interest in Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a worldwide disease. Its prevalence ranges from only about 1 per 100,000 in East Asia to as many as 11 per100,000 in Scandinavia. In the United States, it's somewhere in between. Within the U.S., sarcoids are three times more common among black Americans than white Americans and roughly twice as common among females as males.
