Pope Benedict the 16th sees Saint Benedict as a model for us now. The times in which Benedict lived mirror our times with... They're both turbulent times. And I think what Pope Benedict saw, one of the things he saw in Saint Benedict was we're living in turbulent times. We need to have the depth of prayer and encounter with God that Benedict worked on for three years in the cave of Supeyako. From that depth, that spiritual depth, that will allow us to be missionaries in the time in which we live.
