The Cost of Losing Bitcoin
It's impossible to know how much Bitcoin is lost every year. We don't have a registry of all the Bitcoin holdings and a way to tell when people are saying that Bitcoin is really lost. But as a general estimate, if you ask around, most people would say somewhere between 0.5 percent and 2 percent of all Bitcoin is lost each year.
