The Wampum Belt of the Iroquois Confederacy

The hiawatha belt was designed in order to mark and solemnize the most impactful diplomatic agreement in the history of iroquois civilization. This particular wampum belt, may be the oldest one currently in existence. It's certainly the most sacred and meaningful to the iroquoise to day. The name iroquoian is not really the proper original endonym of these peoples but a european term that the french first applied to them.
