I think the greatest challenges were later, but my career is probably like many of the listeners. I started as a lieutenant and I wanted to be technically and tactically competent at my job. In the early years I was a micromanager. At times I would be a bit of a martinette or a real stickler for what I wanted almost unreasonable. My role was not to be a great lieutenant or a great captain in the, in the isolated sense. It's to be a good leader for them because they were the people actually going to get the mission done.
