How I Learned User Centered Agile Software Development

I'm just curious like when you were getting this education and user centered agile development how did that like compare to going through the OUX master class. I mean it was just different there wasn't a huge focus on like IA at all and my degree program was a lot about having a concept for an app doing some mock ups developing it on the fly. Do you think that there is a time and place for that kind of work or after or do you feel like there should be more between you know let's do a mock up and then go straight into development?
