The Importance of Prophecy

Gifts of wisdom and knowledge are probably related to the gift of teaching. God may give certain Christians a certain kind of faith so that they trust him inordinately for a specific task. He then talks about gifts of healing and workers of miracles. These almost certainly overlap heavily. The word prophecy, as used by Paul in 1 Corinthians, refers generally to speech that reports what God spontaneously brings to mind.
