Ignatius Saying Unbegotten God
Athanasius has to defend Ignatius because here was the problem. The father was meant to be unbegotten and Jesus was distinguished from him by being eternally begotten. So they swapped out the language of unbegotten, put the word eternal in there. And certainly in the critical editions, I've read, particularly of Holmes' Brandon, they have begotten and unbegotten.
