The Bicycle Movement Was Feminism
Populism was a movement that swept the south in the late 1800s and early 1900s. They wanted to get off the gold standard, nationalize the railroads and farm reforms. But they were crushed by Jim crow's 'jim crow' laws which denied black people the right to vote. The idea of white farmers working together against each other is now seen as an anathema among many Americans.
