Boris Johnson appeared before the privileges and conduct committee. He faced questions over his use of Downing Street for private parties. Mr Johnson's supporters in the Conservative Party were quick to defend him. If he is found to have deliberately misled colleagues, he could be suspended from the Commons for 10 days. This would trigger a by-election which he could lose. Could it be the end of Boris' political career?
