Cats Are So Much Better Than Dogs

Coclear implants probably wouldn't exist without cats. Cats are genetically similar to humans, so scientists could glean useful data from their brains and ears. They were used as model organisms for experiments on human hearing in the 19th century. And they became key players in understanding how we hear - by mapping auditory nerve pathways to coclear implant technology.
