Competitive Surfing Is a Fascinating Thing

I think that watermen kind of ethos or whatever you wanna call it, but that like idea of a kind of holistic relationship with the ocean. It's not specific to riding waves on a surfboard, and there's like never a day that you're not connected to the water. And I got affected in the competitive part because I watched my stepdad who was a great surfer get abused in the competitive system. He just needed to win by a certain amount and he always did. There was just some convenience that, you know, and I can remember one event that was probably the most impactful on me in my kind of my view of competitive surfing.
