The Plural Blood Patch Technique

The plural blood patch is a salvage technique. In most cases it prevents you from having to place a conventional chest tube. Chris first got the idea for the plural blood patch back in the early 2000s when he was speaking to a thoracic surgeon about bronchoplural fistulas. And I think we were able to prove in 2011 that it probably works and so since then it's become a stalwart of our practice.
