The Skepticism of Memory

We often get really misled by this idea of the brain as a computer. But memory in a biological organism and a human being is not supposed to be this indelible, totally accurate record of everything that happened. And it's kind of hard to see an adaptive reason why we should remember things at that early in our lives because we didn't really have control over anything that early inOur lives. So memory is very different. It's very driven by the future as much as it's a record of the past.
