There were about a hundred and 25 thousand little wriggly glass eels in each tank. They're all crammed in and they have no personal space. Heels like cutdle puddles. That's one, one of the good things with eels is that they actually like to be in very high densities.
Where eels come from is a surprisingly difficult question to answer, in large part because scientists have never actually seen them reproduce in the wild. Gastropod explains why eels are somehow still so mysterious.
