Can Type Inference Patches Slow Down the Compiler?
So I've been kind of worried about this, especially since like recently David Nolan went on this, this hunt to speed up the compiler. And he, for some reason, he started hunting for things and he found a five to 10% performance gain here. So so far, I think of all these type inference patches, they can slow things down like maybe 2% or so. But if they started to slow things downlike 5% or 10%, then I would feel compelled to try to figure out ways to optimize whatever it's doing. Yeah.
