The Differences Between Escalated VICOP and ABVD

The first study with Escalated VICOP did show both a PFS and an over all survival advantage when we would go back and sort of dissect the standard arm which was the COP ABVD arm. The toxicities were pretty severe with eight cycles of Escalate VICOP so lots of grade 3 and 4 infections, AML, MDS in you know 3 to 4 percent of patients and infertility and those things were just not acceptable I think also in that era was coming around the standard use of stem cell transplant for relapse Hodgkins. And then as time went on there were more phase 3 trials comparing VICOP to ABVD and also most of them continued to show
