The Dystopian Turn of Science Fiction

I envision like this whole space of possible futures and only some small subset of them make for compelling stories so those are the that's the subset that we see when we look at science fiction. I'm not saying that things couldn't happen a lot Terminator just that I think it's hard not to watch movies like Terminator and draw the conclusion either consciously or unconsciously that that is what is most likely to happen right?
