The Differences Between English and British English
The complex nouns in British English tend to have the ING, the chairman. I'll put you on a waiting list, whereas our American cousins would say wait list. Another aspect which occasionally throws up differences is when it comes to prepositions. With has more of a suggestion of it's a two-way conversation. Whereas the preposition to, it's going only in one direction.
