The Value of a Third Party in Negotiations
Emotion absolutely is one of the key interests in a negotiation. But I think the other thing that plays in is the cognitive biases that come in. Even when you tell people that they've got these subconscious biases, they can't stop these biases acting upon their thought processes. And even if we are aware of those limits, they will still be limits on the way that we process and think. That's why it's so valuable to have the third party.
