The Centre Ground in the 2017 Election
Both parties did get a huge proportion of the vote at that election. I don't think either would claim they were on the centre ground in that election. And crucially, the Tories ran one of the most self sabotaging campaigns ever. What to me was very revealing about that election was how much residual Tory feeling there still was despite Cameron winning majority just two years earlier.
