How Do You Leverage the Former CEO and Board Chair?
How do you best leverage the departing CEO's expertise, especially if they become or stay on as the board chair? I think it'll depend a little bit on where that former CEO and now board chair is in the course of their own life. People have either moved on and started to commit themselves to things even beyond being board chair. And depending on their stage and their own evolution, you'll find people spending more time or getting more space.
