Jade and the Tree of Life

Jade could almost feel energy flowing from the tree and into her through her hand. As she worked, the sun peeped over the row of trees and warmed jade from top to bottoms. She removed all the loose bits she'd cut and moved them to one she kneeled on the soft ground so she could get closer to the rootsshe snipped away and had soon cleared the ground around her of brambles. Jade scooped up armfulsand, deposited the cuttings into one of the large garden waste sacks near by. Laurie was depositing her own at the same time.
