The Future of Material Design
There were no trend predictions for 2016, but material design was mentioned a lot. Material design is based on paper and how you would move things in an app. The next version of Chrome will be 'material designed' with real-life shadowing. It's not skeuomorphic - there are no shadows or dropshadowed pixels.
