Central banks and governments in general are not about to agree to a supera national system where they're not in charge of something. A central bank digital currency makes that a lot more efficient. And my prediction is cbd will be designed, first of all, to make it much easier for governments to do all sorts of crazy things like frees people's bank accounts.
