Tom Wilson had just moved from Columbia Records to MGM-Verve. In 1966, as well as producing The Mothers, he was working on everything from live albums by Connie Francis to the Blues Project's projections album. More interestingly, he worked on two separate projects that might have appealed to Warhol's pop aesthetic. Both of them combining experimental music with a cash in on the popularity of the Batman TV show.
