Childhood Absence Epilepsy - What Is It?
There are two main types of absence epilepsy syndromes, and you really have to think about both. Childhood absence epilepsy typically has an age of onset between 3 and 12 years of age. Bilateral tonic-clonic seizures are more common in juvenile absence epilepsy. The treatment for childhood absence epilepsy was ethosuximide; ethosex is the best tolerated drug.
