The Australian Government's Subsidy for Petrochemical Manufacturing
State and federal governments pay to build infrastructure that gets used partly or entirely by the fossil fuel industry. $1.9 billion of federal money is going to try to subsidize the demand for new gas supply, even though every scientist on the planet says we shouldn't be developing it. The Albanese government has stamped out some of the dodgiest, stupidest, most blatant fossil fuel subsidies but key ones are still there. It's like asking McDonald's to run the school canteen, paying them to do the school lunches. While you're trying to invite child obesity, there is no logic here. If we want to stop climate change, we have to stop polluting. This
