The Fascist Appeal in the United States
The bases of a sort of fascist appeal in the United States are consistent, right? That there is a glorious past that it would be great if we could return to. The scapegoat is almost always the Jews. It's often people who don't have white skin. And it's very often immigrants. I do think that there is something human about being told, oh, the strongman will take care of you. All we need is more control and the good old days.
