The Disservice of Product Owners in the Agile World
The product owner is more focused internally on helping the rest of the scrum team understand what needs to be delivered. And then there's a camp that says, those two roles need to be physically the same person and help the scrumteam know what to do. So I think going back to your definition, this is how businesses are using the terms I agree, especially in the IT sector. But remember, for those who are listening, that products go well beyond IT, and have for hundreds and thousands of years.
