The Importance of Hearings in the US Congress

The US Congress is the legislative branch meeting. What they're doing when they hold hearings is, well, probably two different things. One is trying to do information and discovery to help them make a determination of what kind of laws that they should create. That was actually what the goal of this hearing was, that it was very collegial and very receptive. They actually commented, they made a nice comment at the end, like that there wasn't as much picturing as normal. Oftentimes hearings are also for show advertising a political position or CEOs will get called before Congress but not here.
