Women in the 19 sixties didn't have to make that sacrifice, because their husbands can afford to support them. Now you have this massive government that is very expensive. But also this huge government has made the economy less productive. Because we have a less productive economy, we have a lower standard of living for the people who are living in that economy. And so when you get professors like stephen hankey trying to ignore the fact that the average American has seen a decline in their standard of living by ignoring the important fact that you have two people working instead of one.
