Is Distributed Ledger Technology Going to Displace Traditional Cryptocurrencies?
When I first heard about it, my first initial reaction was why on earth would anybody want to use this? The ultimate test of whether or not it succeeds at doing a particular thing essentially depends on the value proposition it offers. If it's something that can accomplish something in a more efficient and better manner than we have today, it's going to succeed in that area. But if it brings in more risks and more challenges and certainly opens up the possibility that consumers are facing considerable risks vis-a-vis what we have today,. then in those areas I don't think it'll succeed as well nor displace existing technology.
