The Importance of Retrieval Time
The most common mistake that I've had and it's happened a few times unfortunately is as we're adjusting estrogen doses during the frozen transfer cycle, patients accidentally take their vaginal progesterone orally. They didn't realize that they were supposed to be abstaining for a certain amount of time. We typically ask our partners to ejaculate on the day of trigger so that we can have as fresh of a sample as possible. And then in the message that they get, there is a reminder, please don't again prior to the retrieval. That's the big one. It doesn't harm them, but unfortunately when the lining of the uterus is exposed to progesterone when it's not supposed to
